I started my first business almost 20 years ago. I started a company because I wanted to do whatever I wanted to do, and I didn’t want someone else telling me what to do. I wanted to work with people I want to work with, and make enough money to keep doing whatever I wanted to do. After 10 years of doing just that, I discovered that by not paying enough attention to the money you were going to work an awful lot, for a little. The next 10 years I put my focus and experience to work on profit. I didn’t work any less in the 2nd 10 years, but I made a lot more money. Both phases were absolutely necessary on my entrepreneurial journey. Still the Love Letter above has always been at the root of what I do, because it’s who I am. I am who I am, based on where I came from and all the people that gave me life, love, liberty, time, energy, experience and patients.
As successful entrepreneurs we get to do what we want to do, I assume that’s why most of us do it, I know it’s why I do it. Now that I’ve done it for a while, I know I can continue to make profit a goal, while keeping the above ideals straight and center in all I do. This is my transparency, this is my social media, and the guide I use to judge the success of my endeavors.
